Don’t be fooled by what it looks like on the outside. Or by the name somehow. Satan’s Whiskers is a lively and chill night bar with spectacular cocktails and service and it is really worth it to read what the deal with this venue is.
The mystique bar named after one the world’s favorite cocktails is a bit hard to find – tucked away between small offices and newsagents in Bethnal Green its neon sign is your cue, look carefully not to miss it and be prepared to find something a lot trendier on the inside of this inconspicuous door. French posters from a previous century, intimate booths away from the crowd or cute little tables for two, devilish vibe and amiable waiter running around with a smile when spotting a client’s sight will make you eager to dive in the atmosphere of a friendly spot for a drinking night.
The music inside is very prepossessing. What for? Ordering the next cocktail, of course. Be careful, Satan’s Whiskers is famous as the best provider of blurred eyesight, inappropriate confessions flowing out of your mind and funny memories from the way home which seem to just disappear the next morning. This does not mean that the bar serves hard and low quality alcohol to its clientele – quite the opposite, the bartenders’ craft is so good that tasting only one piece of their artwork is simply not enough. The menu is innovated daily but some of its most memorable mixtures are (aside from Satan’s Whiskers of course) Old Pal, East 8 Hold Up, A&B Sour, Apple Jack Rabbit, Salty Dog and some more but to be honest – you can rest assured and go with…anything on the list, it won’t disappoint you.
And the food menu. You would expect a poorly made-up menu with some basic appetizers for the stage at which drunks just cannot stand hunger and would eat anything in front of them. But that’s not Satan’s Whiskers idea – the food is just as devilishly delicious as are the drinks. If you free some time up from looking trough the cocktail list – pay some attention to the snacks as well and try out some scallops, ribs, wraps, sweet potato fries or anything else that suits you.
The tendency to order another and another and another in Satan’s Whiskers makes things a bit different than in other drinking bars. Since each person would order the amount a group of friends does in the bar across the street, Satan’s Whiskers does not need a huge crowd do make a profit of the night, meaning that you can have you night out without struggling on your way to the toilet among the tons of other visitors. Aside from this happy fact, your experience at the Satan’s Whiskers will not be clouded by lousy service either – the staff feels like members of your own friends group while at the same time not being too intruding or incompetent.
It’s best to visit the bar at the weekend or on Thursday/Sunday if you’re in the mood for chatting or a fan of hip hop music. And another thing you should know is that fortunately, Satan’s Whiskers maintain one of the best price ranges, especially for such high quality of products and service. It is after all a small bar difficult to spot, but for a venue called by many ‘the best cocktail menu I’ve tasted’ an £8 cocktail is undoubtedly a rarity.
Even though you cannot find a website of the bar, you can check out all the profiles in social media sites they have made the effort to create, think again why exactly wouldn’t you visit the venue and head to Satan’s Whiskers on a full stomach if you want to taste more of their delicious mixtures!
